The Registered Industrial Hygienists (SG) scheme is set up to recognise industrial hygienists professionally.
The Registered Industrial Hygienist (RIH) scheme in Singapore is a professional certification scheme that recognizes excellence in industrial hygiene (IH) practices and upholds high IH standards. Established in 2015 and recognized by the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) in 2020, the scheme is administered by the RIH Board under the Occupational and Environmental Health Society (OEHS).
The RIH scheme adheres to a rigorous and thorough process that assesses and recognizes individuals who demonstrate expertise and proficiency in the field of IH. In order to attain the designation of RIH, candidates must meet specific educational prerequisites, amass relevant work experience, and successfully pass an examination and/or assessment. In addition, upholding professional ethics, and maintaining a strong professional reputation are regarded as vital factors in the certification process.
RIH professionals are highly sought after by employers due to their knowledge and skills in effectively managing workplace health hazards and mitigating workplace health risks, thus safeguarding the health and well-being of workers.
